This week's writer shout outs both came to me via Twitter, where I make more and more contacts each day. If you aren't Tweeting yet, then you may be missing out on interesting people such as literary agent, Rachelle Gardner who generously offers some important tips for any writer looking to get published.
Her blog is friendly and informative, as are her tweets. She also has an active community of readers, with many posts getting plenty of comments, so it is a nice place to connect with other writers.
Speaking of sites that help you connect with other writers, Websites For Writers does exactly what it says on the tin, and is set to be a valuable resource for writers looking for information or just a sense of community. The site has an attractive layout that tempts you to explore. Get lost in a wide universe of writing websites!
And this week's Nibby Award goes to The Frog and his collection of unusual, poetic and lyrical blogs. The Kevin Broccoli Blog reeled me in with it's poetry posts depicting life in all it's banal details. I felt somehow voyeuristic reading it, yet compelled at the same time, rather like watching some strange reality TV show.
It made me realise that so many blogs have lost their personal aspect as they follow the now established format of a commercial blog, rather than enjoy the freedom that random online web logging was created for. The poetry is filled with humor and touches on many of the daily frustrations that we have all experienced.
