Art House Literary Project
If you are searching for a new experimental writing project after NaNoWriMo, then check out this new literary exhibition being put together by Art House. Art House is a national co-operative of artists that bring together talent from around the world to collaborate on a wide variety of projects. This is the first exhibition that has a focus on text, and looks to be an exciting venture. To take part all you have to do is register on the site and pay an $18 entry fee. This will get you a lined Moleskin notebook and a designated theme. The theme is the only part of the project that is dictated, and after that you have complete creative license to fill the notebook with words, images and art. This is a fun way to get involved in an unusual creative outlet, and if you often doodle in your notebooks then here is a chance to integrate them into a story and show off skills besides your writing! Or collaborate with another artist such as a photographer, illustrater or scrapbooker to create a more visually dynamic submission. Projects like this are great for letting your imagination run wild, with a less formal or restrictive format than other types of writing. Entries are not juried, and all will be displayed in the exhibition in Brooklyn. The application deadline in Febuary 15th, 2010, and the finished notebooks need to be submitted by April 14th 2010. All notebooks will be permanently displayed in the public exhibition in Brooklyn ArtLibrary.
