Did you enter the Trazzler Writing Contest? Perhaps your travel tale is in the list for voting this month? Check out all the stories and vote for your favorite in the following categories:
Foodie Temples - Warning - drooling hazard ahead!
Love in the City - Sigh. Romeo, oh romeo...
LGBT Icons - there are some great fun trips here for open minded travellers of any sexual orientation
Neighborhood Spots - find the real flavor of a place as only locals know.
Only in SF - there's SO much more to this city than hills and trams!
I'm not mad keen on the voting format of this contest. With only 15 trips listed per page, with the highest scoring trips appearing top of the list, it doesn't take long for the leading contenders to move away from the rest. Voters are unlikely to scroll past the first couple of pages before casting their vote so the winner then, is likely to be one of the trips that is already in the top ten. I'd even be so bold as to say that it's highly unlikely that an entry other than the current leader will win.
Still, the trips are diverse, and the short, snappy format makes it easy to soak up the flavors of a wide variety of travels before deciding on a favorite. Reading the trips is also a great exercise for me, who finds it hard to be brief! These micro travel reviews really make me think about how I could say more with fewer words. Time for some Twitter training, I think!
